Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
