'Living a Nightmare': Families of Missing Teens Desperately Seek Information After Ski Resort Blaze

The relatives of teens unaccounted for after a devastating inferno at a venue in a Switzerland's ski resort are enduring an excruciating period of uncertainty for answers and appealing for clues about their children online.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of New Year's Day. Circulated video reveal the ceiling igniting as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Authorities have stated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the victims of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of 40 people and hurt another 119. Authorities stated on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work still underway to identify the other six.

In the waiting period, families and friends have been taking to the internet to plead for any news about their friends who were at the bar that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The fate of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an heartfelt request from his mother.

Included in that group is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage promising athlete, who hailed from Italy but now living in Dubai.

The national sporting body has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who carried with him passion and true sportsmanship."

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also unaccounted for. His mother said that he had been on holiday but had gone out with friends and found himself at the bar.

"Someone with him told me they fled after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators commented, "He was known for his good nature and smile, combined with great maturity. He would frequently offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss nationality but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to sources.

Her brother has shared an urgent request online, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her other nation say they are closely watching the developments.
