Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team drafted in the second round.

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
