Alleged Harasser Asked: 'Yet Imagine I Am Madeleine?'
A woman accused with stalking Kate McCann reportedly recorded her a recorded message which questioned: "imagine I am Madeleine?"
The defendant, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has repeatedly declared she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are standing trial accused with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February the current year.
On Monday, the tribunal learned call records and evidence obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout that period.
Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most covered child disappearance cases and is still unresolved.
'I Don't Want Money'
Another voicemail, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine was, but I believe what I feel."
While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "Suppose there is a small chance that I am she? What happens next? Wouldn't that be significant for you?"
"I do not need money, I possess a living here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.
The jury was informed that through electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, sent childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.
The investigator, an intelligence analyst with the police force who gathered the evidence, advised the court there "seemed to lack any responses" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt additionally contacted family friends of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.
On that date, Mr McCann picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "incorrect contact information."
