Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event does not mark the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has encountered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to Munich was required to head back to Washington DC after suffering a technical issue.
